The BatteryBoxx and PowerBoxx are forward-looking concepts that provide smart energy solutions which take advantage of the innovative CakeBoxx container design. Because of their unique ability to be readily handled across multi-modal supply chains, they can provide ready and rapid sources of electrical power for emergency response and remote operations.
The “BatteryBoxx” is a containerized, deployable, fully independent, battery-powered electrical power source. It will typically be used in tandem with the “PowerBoxx,” a diesel or natural gas-powered electrical energy source with the same deployability characteristics as the BatteryBoxx. A third CakeBoxx variant, the POLBoxx can deliver a transportable 10,000-liter fuel source to remote locations to support extended operations.
The unique CakeBoxx form factor enables the use of advanced sodium sulfur or lithium iron oxide battery technologies to be integrated into commercially viable, transportable and easily handled packaging. These systems can deliver up to .5mWhr capacity per unit. Combined with similarly packaged portable power generation equipment, these combined components can deliver reliable, long-term electrical power to the most remote locations.
Because of the security of the CakeBoxx design, the BatteryBoxx protects valuable battery equipment from weather, vandalism and theft. They quickly slip onto their electrical contacts and can be moved or installed with existing equipment. They are fireproof, weather-proof, bug-proof, immune to incidental real world events and, being ISO standard containers, they are deliverable anywhere, anytime, any weather worldwide.
No matter what the energy source, BatteryBoxx installations create stable electricity grids, lower power costs, emergency power back-ups and quickly pay for themselves.
The PowerBoxx is ideal for users who require power but are frequently or permanently off the grid.
Like the BatteryBoxx, the PowerBoxx utilizes the CakeBoxx design to house power generation equipment. The engine/generator unit was recently developed by General Motors to provide remote, continuous power fueled by natural gas, propane or gasoline.
One PowerBoxx can produce 50 kilowatts (kW) of electricity around the clock for two weeks without refueling. If natural gas is available, it can run on that fuel indefinitely. Combined with the batteries used in the BatteryBoxx, it can provide electrical power to an entire neighborhood for long periods of time and can even be the permanent power source for communities wishing to be off-grid by choice or where there is no infrastructure providing electrical power such as in disaster relief operations.
The PowerBoxx can be used alone, stacked or trailer-mounted. As with all CakeBoxx products the unit is completely weather-proof, bug-proof and very safe. Since there are no doors, equipment operating noise is minimized and unauthorized access is extremely difficult..
